In March 2024, we launched the Uliza-WI chatbot, our Telegram-based climate advisory service bringing location-specific weather forecasts, extreme rainfall alerts, and step-by-step farming advice directly to farmers’ phones.

Two years on, the numbers speak for themselves:

11,000+ user-driven interactions
Thousands of extreme rainfall alerts sent via push-notifications
Active in 36 countries
665 unique farmers and extension officers served every season

But behind this number there are many individual stories of farmers and extensions officers who trust this services to plan not only their farming work, but even other daily activities such as going to the market and predicting customers demands on apps like Uber or Bolt.

We are deeply proud to have provided a stable, reliable service for two years running. And we have exciting news to share: Uliza-WI is now also available on WhatsApp! Reaching farmers where they already are, making climate-smart advice even more accessible.
