Capacity building in Zimbabwe

Published on 28 April 2022 by Tamara Lancel

Capacity building is part of our ongoing project in Zimbabwe, an important element to strengthen the skills of the relevant staff of national meteorological and agricultural institutes. Our purpose is to train agents to access, analyze and visualize meteorological data. Today Weather Impact gave an introduction to the Python programming language which marks the first step in this series of, in total, three trainings!
Different agents from the Meteorology Services Department and from the Agricultural Technical Extension and Advisory Services (AGRITEX) Department joined today’s session. We train them to use tools like Python and QGIS and aim at providing everyone with valuable learning content to advance their skills. A training on how to produce sophisticated data analysis and visualizations will follow soon.
