Team spirit

At Weather Impact we offer a safe, inspiring and informal work environment, while doing relevant, meaningful work. We have short communication lines, all team members are proud on what they do, and we support each other. This keeps the team spirit high. Personal attention is an important aspect, not only work related issues are shared, there is also room to share personal matters and of course have a lot of fun together.

Family feeling & team activities

We work from a characteristic office in the city centre of Amersfoort, close to shops, restaurants and at 10 minutes walking from the central train station. The office is shared with our sister companies Hydrologic and Water Platform Company, like a big family! Lunch is arranged by us, and every day we have our lunch break together with all colleagues, sitting around a large table. Also visitors join the lunch table. In summer we spend our lunchtime outside in the lovely garden where you can even try a table tennis match.

On a regular basis, fun social activities are organized by the joint personnel association, for all colleagues from Weather Impact, Hydrologic and Water Platform Company. Join for a drink in a nearby café, or challenge yourself with more sportive activities as indoor skiing, canoeing in the canals of Amersfoort, or participating in a running competition. Once a year, we organize a whole weekend away on an external location, which is always a lot of fun.

Teambuilding activities within the Weather Impact team are just as important. Examples of the last few years include sheep herding, sailing in Friesland, a cooking workshop or escape room. Successes, birthdays and anniversaries are always celebrated, with flowers, cake and presents. Once a year Weather Impact and Hydrologic organize a ‘Family day’. On this day, family members are welcome at our office to get to know us better and learn more about our work. Multiple presentations are given by different colleagues about different projects, a really interesting and social gathering.


Working with us

Within the team we have an open communication and everyone is involved in decisions that need to be taken. We have weekly team meetings, to discuss acquisition topics and we have project meetings, to discuss the operational projects. Besides that we organize strategy days, to have a more future outlook, and discuss and brainstorm together what we aim to achieve as a company. Everyone’s ideas and input is highly appreciated and taken into account.

You have the flexibility to work a few days from home. We provide all needed equipment to make sure you can create an optimal work environment from home.  We agree on certain days in the week to work in the office and meet the whole team, which we think is important for social interaction and cohesion. Besides that, we introduced a daily online ‘coffee break’ as well, to have the possibility to connect to your colleagues on home working days.

Within the team there is plenty of room for development, own initiatives and personal growth. We offer internal trainings, to improve your skills on, for example, presenting, acquisition, machine learning and optimal use of social media.
Every year you discuss your personal development with your manager, you set goals for the coming year and reflect on these.

Part of our application process is joining us a full day at the office. This day you will make some exercises, which you present to the team at the end of the day. Of course this day is also meant to give you a good feeling about our work environment. We give you a tour through the office, you can talk to different colleagues and we join lunch together.
This day is always experienced as very positive by our applicants!

We think it is important to have a close cooperation with students and universities as well. We offer interns the opportunity to follow their internship with us or do their thesis. Next to that we provide presentations on universities about our work, where students have the chance to connect with us and ask questions. This close connection to academia also helps us to stay up to date about the latest developments, research and available tools and data.



Since 2014, Weather Impact has been grown into a company with many successful projects, in 15 countries and reaching up to 1 million farmers with our weather and climate services.

At Weather Impact we have the mission to support organizations, farmers and other stakeholders in a changing climate. Weather influences almost every aspect of a farming business and therefore affects global food production. Digital weather and climate services are part of the solution to build climate resilience. With a dedicated team we contribute to solving today’s climate related problems.

We care about our environment, we want to make a difference and help where it is most needed. We do business in a sustainable way and take our responsibility towards a healthy and safe environment seriously. Where possible, we travel by train, also within Europe. For the travels to Africa and Asia that requires travelling by plane we prioritize direct connections and compensate the CO2 emission by donating to Trees for All, an organization that plant trees to recover and protect National Parcs.
